This book literally perpetuates the idea that abuse and rape is normal and that a guy can love and care for you even if he does those horrible things to you. Also, Zane helped women and children from pedophile networks and sex enslavement, which made him appear like a hero, yet he goes around to stalking and raping a woman he happened to obsess with?

The chemistry and intensity of the romance is off the charts and so toxic but so good that it hurts. A lot of darker themes are tackled here and as a reader you need to be smart about knowing what you're walking into. Every time I see Zade the r4pist getting praised on socials it feels like an actual violation and I get more and more angry. When he rapes her multiple times but it’s ‘justified’ because he kills pedophiles and sex traffickers for a living? The cringe-worthy lines I've been hearing have actually caused me to literally roll my eyes and stop listening to books because they were just that stupid and even uncomfortable.I disagree with the sheer number of poor reviews on this book strictly due to the fact that the readers were unprepared for the disturbing and dark content. He leans in close, his lips skating across mine as he watches me slowly come apart at the seams, all the while grinning at me. The plot is essentially the Zade (H) saving sex trafficked girls and women while hunting down and killing pedos.

And let’s face it, we don’t necessarily always pick up dark romance books because of the great storylines, so I think that’s an achievement! Haunting Adeline" is noteworthy for its examination of spicy scenes that enhance the dark and sensual aspects of the book. Edit almost one year later- I had already dropped by rating from 2 stars to 1 star (and I NEVER rate anything 1 star).
