About this deal

In our old car seat her head lolled forward when she fell asleep and I always assumed that was just par for the course with car seats. But in the Excalibur her head seems cradled by cushioned support, yet she isn’t uncomfortably constrained. If your child is in a rear-facing car seat DO NOT put them on the front seat if the airbag is active. When can I move my baby into forward facing seat? The Excalibur Car Seat is the ideal addition for families with multiple cars and who are always ready for their next adventure. The covers are easily removed and washable at 30°C. Comfort is my priority in a car seat and my daughter just fits this seat better - as if it were made for her.

I think for the recline feature, it makes this seat stand out. I also thought it was really easy to fit into the car, I didn’t have to ask my husband to do it like I normally do. It is really well made and feels like it will last for ages. Factor in that we can continue to use this seat until my daughter is well into double figures, in theory, and you’ll understand why we think it’s unbeatable value for money, too. The Excalibur Phaeton could boast being designed by Brooks Stevens, who was well known for designing and developing many well-known and nationally recognizable products as well as automobiles, including designs for the 1962 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk and the updated look of the Jeep from their original Willys origins. There are two ways to fit the Excalibur — either using the adult seat belt or with Isofix and top tether. The seat is quite heavy at 11kg, so hopefully I won’t be having to take it in and out the car very often.

This post is my full review of our new car seat from Cozy N Safe, the Excalibur. You can read my first impressions blog post here which also has my first Cozy N Safe video. Despite Stevens’ ambitious pricing, the anachronisms went a little too far in some ways – until 1980, for instance, the Excalibur offered only sidescreens rather than wind-up windows. As the new decade arrived though it brought the Series IV with it, for good and for bad. It featured roll-down windows and a 125-inch wheelbase, but also a 305ci GM V8 rated at just 155bhp. Saddled with a three-speed automatic transmission and a two-tonne kerb weight, the Excalibur was no longer a performance car.

A second-hand seat bought through a second-hand shop or through the classified ads may have been involved in an accident and any damage to the seat that can weaken it may not be visible. Luxury cars didn’t have an easy time of it in the seventies, but the Excalibur soldiered on, with a Series III arriving in 1975. This brought an even bigger V8 (now 454ci), and a slightly longer wheelbase (now 112 inches), but essentially the Excalibur looked much like before, which was the biggest part of its appeal to buyers. Group 1 2 3 car seats are forward-facing car seats where the toddler uses the seat’s integral five-point safety harness initially or an impact cushion until they are 15kg (Group 1 Isofix car seat) and then uses the car seat’s five-point seatbelt to secure the child and the seat. I would recommend this to my mummy friends as it’s really comfy for my little boy, it’s the only car seat he’s ever fallen asleep in, so it must be really comfy. It looked a bit boring when I got it out the box compared to some designs of seats but actually it grew on me and it’s nice and stylish. The harness is really easy to adjust too, with just a tap of a button and the pulling of the belt. It’s really effortless actually, whether tightening or loosening. I found it so much easier than the last seat my son had.

Babies can legally move to a forward-facing seat at the 9kg minimum weight, however moving your child at 9kg forward-facing is not as safe as having them rear-facing. An adjustable headrest offers 14 positions ensuring the best possible fit for your growing child. All the covers are made from luxurious materials which can be removed easily for cleaning. Cozy N Safe Graphite Excalibur Car Seat Features: I highly recommend it to parents who are looking for a long-lasting, comfortable and safe car seat for their children.
